Why Full Housekeeping Units?
Every year more and more families discover the advantages of staying in full housekeeping lodging. They enjoy the extra freedom and convenience they don't get with standard bed and bath facilities. The primary difference is a full kitchen and more room. Having a fully equipped kitchen means you are not dependent upon restaurant schedules, and you save on meal costs. Your extra time and money goes for more vacation fun!

Hummingbird Hideaway carries basic groceries and cook out supplies but less than ten minutes away is a 24/7 Wal-Mart Super Center. Stock up on food, snacks, and beverages so you can cook meals and enjoy snacks any time you want in your Hummingbird unit. If you want to eat out we can direct you to several good restaurants, both chain and independent, just minutes from the resort.

Quality Meal Time
Many of our guests discover that meals cooked together in their Hummingbird Hideaway unit become some of their best vacation memories. That's why our kitchens all have four burner ranges with ovens. The refrigerators are late model full sized appliances. Tableware includes enough plates, silverware, and glasses for the maximum number of persons allowed per unit. Cookware includes frying pans, pot holders, broiler pans, cookie sheets, and pots. Kitchenware includes mixing bowls, measuring spoons and cups, assorted utensils, and colanders. All units have drip coffee makers, microwave ovens, and toasters.

Guests tell us they especially enjoy evening cookouts here in the Ozarks because mosquitoes are so rare. Picnic tables and Weber charcoal grills right outside each unit make these cookouts convenient and easy. Because a mixture of hardwood and cedar trees shade our units, you can enjoy lunch outside too.

Our gazebo, pavilion, and playground, all located near the swimming pool, offer more outdoor dining options. Guests eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the gazebo where they can also socialize while watching their children in the pool. The playground keeps children busy after a meal while parents relax under the pavilion.

Furnishings
All units are individually decorated and include expanded basic cable TV. With the late model TVs it is easy to attach a DVD or game machine if you chose to bring one. We have a nice selection of DVD's and a limited number of DVD players available to rent.   Bedrooms have dressers and closets so you can unpack your suit case. Pack and play cribs are available upon request. We supply all linens except pool towels. Sheets, pillow cases, bath towels, wash clothes, and dish towels are provided. Because many people enjoy visiting Norfork Lake in the spring and fall, our units are fully heated and air conditioned.

Unit Descriptions
Hummingbird Hideaway offers accommodations filling the range of lodging needs from individuals to groups of up to 94 persons. We have 16 units ranging in size from one to three bedrooms as described below.

One Bedroom Units
The seven one bedroom units (units 1 and 4 through 9) each sleep up to four persons. All have a separate bedroom with either 2 twin beds or 1 queen bed. The living/dining areas have a futon. The fully equipped kitchens have four burner gas ranges with ovens, and full size refrigerators with freezers. All units have microwaves.

Regular Two Bedroom Units
We have two regular 2 bedroom units. Each sleeps four to six persons with a full bed in one bedroom, and 2 twin beds in the second. The living/dining area has a full futon bed. The fully equipped kitchens include full size four burner electric ranges with ovens, full size refrigerators with freezers, microwaves, coffee makers, toasters, and two large storage cupboards. The bathrooms have bath tubs with showers and heater/exhaust fans. The dinette set comfortably seats six persons. Bedrooms have storage shelves, closets and large mirrored vanity areas.

Deluxe Two Bedroom
We have three deluxe 2 bedroom units (3, 15 and 16 ). Each will sleep up to eight persons. Units 15 and 16 have 2 full beds in one bedroom, and 2 twin beds in the second bedroom. Built-in shelves, closets, and large mirrored vanity areas are in each bedroom. There are full size futons in the living/dining area. Kitchens have full size 4 burner electric ranges with ovens, full sized refrigerators with freezers, 4-slice toasters, coffee makers, microwaves, and two large cupboards. The dinette set comfortably seats eight people.

Unit 3 has 1 queen bed in one bedroom, 1 queen bed and 2 twins in the other. The living room has a queen size hide a bed. This unit has 2 complete bathrooms. The kitchen has a full size gas stove and large refrigerator. Unit 3 can be rented in combination with Unit 1 for groups that need to sleep up to 12 people.

Three Bedroom Units
Our 3 bedroom, 2 bath units each sleep up to 10 people. They have central heat and air conditioning. The bedrooms are configured as follows: one bedroom has 2 full beds, one has 2 twin beds, the third room has one queen bed. The bedrooms have dressers and closets or space to hang clothes. The kitchens have 4 burner electric stoves with ovens, microwaves, 4 slice toasters, coffeemakers and full size refrigerators with freezers. There is kitchen seating, dishes and glassware for 10 people. All units have an open porch with patio table and chairs. Unit 10 also has a covered porch. As with all of our units, a Weber charcoal grill and picnic table are provided. For additional sleeping space units A & B have a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room. Unit 10 has a full size futon in the living room.

Hummingbird Hideaway Specials

1. Winter Special - Free extra night with a reservation of 3 nights or more. Valid September 8, 2009 through March 31, 2010. 2. Fall Special - During September Senior Citizens age 60 or over get a 10% discount off of their total bill for a week's stay. 3. Winter Special Monthly Rates. Please call for special monthly rates.

Deposits & Cancellation Policy: Deposit is due within 10 days of making your reservation, the balance is due upon arrival. In event of cancellation, we  will refund your deposit less a $25.00 handling fee if we are able to rent your cabin or boat. Every attempt will be made to rent your cabin. Please give us as much notice as you possibly can. To avoid misunderstanding, if you arrive late or depart early we must charge for the number of days that were reserved.

Smoking: To accommodate all of our guests we enforce an outdoor smoking only policy. No smoking inside cottages, game room and store.

Pet Policy: Your small pet is welcome by prior approval for $8 per day. During the summer months we only allow adult pets under 20 pounds. Pets must be on a leash while on the grounds. Pets are not to be left unattended in cabins.
